This series explores the expressive potential of dry brush watercolor techniques on medium-rough watercolor paper. By using a fine liner brush to apply pigment in repeated layers, I emulate the layered, opaque quality of tempera painting—an ancient technique known for its precision and permanence. The choice of still life as a subject matter is intentional—it is a genre traditionally associated with observation, contemplation, and symbolic meaning. By engaging in a slow, process-heavy technique, I invite viewers to slow down as well, to become more conscious of their own act of looking.
